Kaifeng Municipal Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, established in 1959, is a comprehensive tertiary-level TCM hospital integrating medical care, education, scientific research, prevention, health promotion, and rehabilitation. Covering a total area of 183.673 mu (approximately 12.2 hectares), the hospital has a planned bed capacity of 2,650 and currently operates 1,301 beds. It comprises four campuses: Dongsimen, Free Trade Zone, Nanguan, and Xisi. The hospital also manages two community health service centers—Xinmenguan Community Health Service Center and Sanlipu Community Health Service Center—and two community service stations—Jiying Community Health Service Station and Wenshu Temple Community Health Service Station. Recognized as a national key institution for the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine, it is designated as a National Key Hospital for Specialized TCM Care, a National Regional Center for TCM Endocrinology Diagnosis and Treatment, a construction unit for a National Demonstration Base for TCM Health Tourism, a National Training Base for Standardized Residency Programs in TCM, and a National Clinical Trial Institution for Medicinal Products. 

The hospital has 38 wards, including 3 national key traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) specialties, 2 national TCM specialty centers of excellence, 1 national regional TCM specialty diagnostic and treatment center, 3 provincial regional TCM specialty diagnostic and treatment centers, 3 provincial key TCM specialties, and 16 municipal clinical key specialties. It currently employs 1,863 staff members.
